Wesley Jay Teutsch

Funeral services for Wesley Jay Teutsch, 57, of Diboll, will be held Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kenny Hibb officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Chester. Mr. Teutsch was born May 18, 1959 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of Susan (Womack) and the late Robert J. Teutsch, Jr. He died Thursday, September 29, 2016 in a Lufkin hospital. Mr. Teutsch had been employed with Brookshire Brothers for more than 40 years, and was the Produce Manager at the Huntington Brookshire Brothers store. He had attended Angelina College and Stephen F. Austin State University, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Diboll. Wesley was a history buff, and his mother would refer to him as “her encyclopedia.” He enjoyed working in the yard, a trait he inherited from his mom and grandmother. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Wesley dearly loved his family and his Lord, Jesus Christ. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Mary K. Teutsch of Diboll; daughter, Lesley Teutsch of Diboll; son, John Wesley Teutsch of Diboll; grandsons, Caleb and Noah, both of Diboll; mother, Susan Teutsch of Lufkin; brother, Biff Teutsch of Lufkin; nieces, Abbie and Averi Teutsch and their mother, Christi Reece Teutsch, all of Alto; aunt and uncle, Sally and Joe Smith of Lufkin; cousin and wife, Joshua and Jennifer Smith and their son, Jace, all of Lufkin; and best friend, Joshua Robbins of Huntington. Mr. Teutsch was preceded in death by his father; brother, Kit Teutsch; aunt, Ima Womack; uncle, Blitz Womack; uncle, Charles Teutsch; and grandparents, Lovick T. and Mae Womack, Robert J., Sr., and Vida Mae Teutsch. Pallbearers will be Joshua Robbins, Doug Everett, Lynn Bass, Terry Edmundson, Quinten Deason, John Henry Tatum II., Wayne Clark, Phil Garrett, and Jarred White. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
