Graveside services for Jack McHaney, 84, of Huntington will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Huntington Cemetery with Brother Van Johnson officiating.
Mr. McHaney was born June 25, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Clyde and Neita (Wright) McHaney, and died Monday, September 26, 2016 in a local hospital.
Mr. McHaney had resided in Huntington for 17 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked for the U.S. Government for 26 years. Mr. McHaney was a Master Gardener. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Herty Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia McHaney of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Lisa McHaney of Baytown; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Tod Puckett of Ocala, Florida; granddaughters, Katherine McHaney of Ocala, Florida and Elsa McHaney of Baytown; grandson, Jack McHaney of Baytown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanette and Bob Sheff of San Antonio, June and Larry Byars of Canyon Lake, and Shirley Turpin of Ransom Canyon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gene McHaney.
