Betty Weatherford Grandgeorge

Funeral services for Betty Weatherford Grandgeorge, 85, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Leo Lytle and Brother Vic Bass officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Grandgeorge was born July 28, 1931 in Dewitt, Arkansas to the late Henry W. Weatherford and Lula Marie (Dobson) Weatherford, and died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Grandgeorge had resided in the Lufkin area since 1972. She retired from Central ISD, where she worked in Housekeeping for 10 years. Mrs. Grandgeorge was a member of Faith Family Church and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary where she was a past commander. Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Grandgeorge of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Austin Louis, Jr. and Letha Grandgeorge of Diboll, Jimmy and Phyllis Grandgeorge of Lufkin, and Bobby and Nancy Grandgeorge of Henderson; granddaughters and husbands, Jodi Grandgeorge of Allentown, Angela and Tony Segura of Lufkin, Kristi and Benny Robinson of Hudson, Grace Grandgeorge and Hannah Grandgeorge, both of Lufkin; grandsons and wives, Trey and Kristi Grandgeorge of Pollok, Jamie and Star Peck of Diboll, Billy and Felicia Grandgeorge of Henderson, Robby and Amanda Grandgeorge of Harmony, Ronny and Kristina Grandgeorge of Henderson, and Jerod and Elyse White of Whitehouse; great-granddaughters, Hayley Eldridge of Pollok, Katelyn Segura, Kayla Segura, both of Lufkin, Madison Hodges of Henderson, Brittany Green of Nacogdoches, Bethany Grandgeorge, and Emily Grandgeorge, both of Henderson; great-grandsons, Zachary Ty Dunn of Allentown, Ryley Grandgeorge of Onalaska; Justin Peck of Diboll, Clayton Roberts of Pollok, Garret Peck of Diboll, Antonio Segura, Noah Segura, both of Lufkin, Brandon Hodges of Henderson, Tyler Green of Nacogdoches, Garrett Grandgeorge, Austin Grandgeorge, both of Harmony, Brantley Grandgeorge of Henderson, and Griffin Robinson of Hudson; great-great-granddaughters, Kenlei Green and Peyton Green, both of Nacogdoches; great-great-grandson, Preston Hodges of Henderson; brother, Bill Weatherford of Diboll; sisters, Janice Peebles and Faye Hill, both of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bro. Austin Louis Grandgeorge, Sr.; brother, Elmer Weatherford; and sister, Mary Homan. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
