Betty Hawkins Bradford

Funeral services for Betty Hawkins Bradford, 89, of Weatherford will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ben Read and Reverend Doug Holtzclaw officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. Ms. Bradford was born March 30, 1927 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Hasting Hawkins and Margueritte (Morrison) Hawkins, and died Thursday, September 8, 2016 in Weatherford. Ms. Bradford earned a Bachelor of Education Degree form Sam Houston State University and was an elementary school teacher. She taught at Lufkin ISD and retired from El Paso ISD. She had resided in Weatherford for 15 years. Ms. Bradford enjoyed traveling all over the world. She was a member of the Iota Theta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Ms. Bradford was member of the First Baptist Church of Weatherford. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Milton and Mary Bradford, Jim and Shannon Bradford, all of Weatherford, and Robert and Carla Bradford of Kyle; granddaughter, Christina Bradford of Weatherford; grandsons, James Bradford, Jr. of Weatherford, Bobby Bradford and wife Grace of Austin, Brandon Bradford of Kyle, and Garrett Bradford of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, George Robert Hawkins. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 890, Huntington, Texas 75949. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
