Dolores Barnes

Graveside services for Dolores Barnes, 76, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in the Pollok Cemetery with Brother Gene Hazell officiating.

Mrs. Barnes was born November 11, 1939 in Stamford, Texas to the late Floyd Dewitt Wills and Annes Valeria (Davis) Wills, and died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Barnes had resided in Lufkin most of her life. She was a nurse for 30 years, working at various doctors’ offices, including Dr. Todd, Dr. Martin, and Dr. Pinnamaneni. She loved the outdoors and raising animals. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, John Harold Barnes of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Karla and Rodney Morrow of Corsicana; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Sukhyang Barnes of Pollok; grandchildren and spouses, Corrie West, Susannah and Kent Doss, Samantha and Andrew Salinas, and Travis West; and four great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Borel, Greg Ashabranner, Bob Lee, Richard Riley, Dennis Ketcham, and Jerry Goins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Knight, Calvin Johnson, and Earl Carr.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday at Carroway Funeral Home.
