Elizabeth Ann Peebler

Funeral services for Elizabeth Ann Peebler, 78, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Peebler was born October 25, 1937 in Hubbard, Texas to the late Jesse Jordan Everett and Francis Christine (Moser) Everett, and died Monday, September 5, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Peebler had resided in Lufkin since 1974. She retired from the office of Dr. Thomas Duncan at East Texas Eye Associates. Mrs. Peebler held a real estate license, was an accomplished quilter and needlework artist, and loved to paint. She was a knowledgeable gardener and could make anything grow. Mrs. Peebler was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ricki Lynn and John Patrick Ryan of Brighton Township, Pennsylvania and Donna and John Wesley Hedgepath of Hudson; daughter-in-law, Charlotta “Charlie” Peebler of Lufkin; grandchildren, Jamie, Kristofer, Kristen, Johnny, Lacey, Chelsea, Justin, Nathan, and Brittany; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward “Buddy” and Linda Everett of Lubbock and David and Gleneita Everett of Pineville, Louisiana; sister, Margie Everett David of Odessa; brother-in-law, George Pitts of Albuquerque, New Mexico; “adopted” children, Bob Love, Karl and Cathy Grimes; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and her loving cat, Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Don Peebler, Sr.; son, Richard Don Peebler, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Peggy Peebler Pitts. Pallbearers will be Gene “Geno” Dorsett, Rob “Bob” Love, Karl Grimes, Jeremy Ferguson, Seann Robinson, and Jerry Thigpen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Hospice of your choice, or to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
