Funeral services for Nell B. Day, 95, of Huntington will be held Friday, September 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Brad Forrest, Brother Burl McBride, and Brother James Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Mrs. Day was born July 16, 1921 in Caddo Mills, Hunt County, Texas to the late James Roy Lacy and Jennie E. (Rosenbalm) Lacy. She had three sisters, Inez Forrest, Bobbie Langford, and Ruth Mitchell. Mrs. Day passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Day lived in Corsicana for 20 years where she worked for Haggar Slacks as a supervisor. After moving to Bedford, she owned her own business, creating ceramic novelty items for high end retail stores. After retirement, Nell and her husband, Fred, lived on Granbury Lake for many years. For 25 years they traveled all over the United States, and toured Canada and Nova Scotia with their friends in the Airstream Club. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, civic clubs, and her church. She was a member of Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington.
She is survived by her loving devoted son, John H. Day, and one granddaughter, Jennie Day. Nell was the loving “Auntie” to nieces and nephews, James and Jim Forrest of Huntington, Nell Settle of Lufkin, Dell Morehead of Huntington, Henry and Linda Pinner of Nederland, and Charles and Judy Forrest of Kentucky. She is survived by five generations of loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and three sisters, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Fred Day; two infant sons, James Terrell Day and Bobby Carlton Day; and two daughters, Nelda Ann Day and Jo Ann Blackwell.
Pallbearers will be Ron Adair, Dwight Arnold, Jeremy Arnold, Jerry Forrest, John Forrest, and Michael Golden.
Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Pinner and Ted Ivy.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Huntington Health & Rehabilitation and Legacy Hospice for the care they gave to our loved one.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
