Graveside services for Laverne Osburn, 74, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in the Mt. Hope Cemetery with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating.
Mrs. Osburn was born September 2, 1941 in Wells, Texas to the late William Henry Moore and Nola (Bell) Moore, and went to be with our Heavenly Father Saturday, August 27, 2016 in a Nacogdoches hospital.
Mrs. Osburn resided in Lufkin most of her life, and had lived in Nacogdoches for the past three months. She and her husband owned Osburn Sanitation for 15 years. Mrs. Osburn was the backbone and entrepreneur of the business. She was a very witty business woman and worked in life insurance for years. She was a homemaker and raised her seven children and grandchildren with such pride, love, and patience. Mrs. Osburn fought a courageous battle with her illness and loved her family and life to the fullest extent.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Janet and Mike Ivy of Nacogdoches, Victor and Julie Matteson of Redland, Pam and Roger Crouch of Peaster, Cathy Osburn, Janet Schroeder, both of Huntington, and Jena Schroeder of Peaster; grandchildren and their spouses, Amberly Ivy, Matt and Marisa Ivy, Heather Matteson, Samantha Matteson, Hannah Matteson, Abby Matteson, Stryker Matteson, Crystal Brown, Tamesha Timberlake, Penny Cross, Michael Boykin, Jason Boykin, Cody Sargent, Brandy Sargent, Dutch Schroeder, Jill Schroeder, and Gracie Shaw; great-grandchildren, Hunter Matteson and Mason Ivy; sisters and brother-in-law, Reba Jean Hutson and Georgia Faye and Virgil Smith, all of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Willie and Shirley Moore of Huffman; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her special dog she so loved, Candy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.R. Osburn; son, Randy Matteson; and brother, Michael Ray Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Moore, David Yarbrough, Kevin Lemons, Kel Carrol, Gerald Simmons, and Lexie Gregg.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Carroway Funeral Home.
