Patricia Gail "Mawmaw Pat" Matthews

Funeral services for Patricia Gail “MawMaw Pat” Matthews, 69, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Brown officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hendricks Cemetery in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Matthews was born March 18, 1947 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late Lucian and Annie (Post) Teehee, and died Thursday, August 25, 2016 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Matthews had resided in Lufkin since 1990. She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking, and was an avid Garage Sale shopper. She loved her family and was known to be drawn to babies. She would make over the children of total strangers in public. She enjoyed her ministry working in church nurseries, and was currently a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Matthews of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Troy Hill of Wells; sons and daughters-in-law, Jacky and Lyndee Matthews of Leander and Troy and Anita Matthews of Park Hill; granddaughters, Markie Hale and husband Dereck of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Morgan Matthews of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Macey Matthews, Montana Matthews, both of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Kaitlyn Matthews, Addison Matthews, both of Leander, and Aaliyah Hill of Wells; grandsons, Patrick Matthews of Leander, Ryan Bennett of Wells, and Michael Chambers of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; great-grandson, Hunter Hale of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives; and “her baby”, Duchess, an Australian Shepherd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Duane Teehee; and grandson, Jacob Johnson.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
