Donald Eugene Cole

Funeral services for Donald Eugene Cole, 80, of Hudson will be held Monday, August 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Jim McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery. Mr. Cole was born December 15, 1935 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Eugene and Ida Mae (Brock) Cole and died Saturday, August 20, 2016 at his residence in Hudson. Mr. Cole retired from the Southland/Champion Paper Mill after 42 years. He enjoyed spending his free time hunting, fishing and horseback riding. He was a member of Loop 287 Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Martha Cole of Hudson; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Thomas McMullen of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Judy Cole of Hudson; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Larry James of Hudson; grandchildren, Christopher and Kristin McMullen of Lufkin, Stacy and James Hicks of Round Rock, Rachel Cole of Hudson, Jessica Cole of Georgetown, Jonathan and Becca James of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kimberly and Casey Scott of Lufkin, and Melissa James of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Maverick McMullen, Mesa McMullen, Drew Hicks, Silas Hicks, Lilly Belle Hicks, McKenna Cole, and Zayne Hancock; ten brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; his two dogs that he called his boys, "Bandit" and "Autumn" along with his horse, "Buck". He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carrol C. Cole. Pallbearers will be Christopher McMullen, Jonathan James, James Hicks, Miles Baker, Billy Warren, and Casey Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Chet Cole, Jeff Fuller, Lee Johnson, Herbert Barringer, Thomas Barringer, Delbert Reynolds, Robert Grimes, and Kenneth Wilson. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
