Nancy Sue Free

Memorial services for Nancy Sue Free, 72, of Etoile will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shirley Creek Baptist Church with Brother Dale Jackson officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Free was born August 17, 1943 in Alvin, Texas to the late Stephen Isaac and Jodie Marie (Brackett) Coonrod and died Monday, August 15, 2016 at her residence in Etoile.

Mrs. Free, formerly of Alvin, had resided in Etoile for the past 11 years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family and friends. She was a great hostess. She loved to garden and raise chickens and spent her spare time crafting, painting, and doing needlework. She especially loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She was a member of Shirley Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Paul Free of Etoile; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Michelle Free of California; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Ken Kelso of Alvin; grandchildren, Tara Free and fiance Eric Wikstrom, Harrison Free, Grace Free, Melissa and Patrick Navarro, Ryan Kelso and fiance Erika Lang, and Shannon and Cade Pavlock; sisters, Jimmie Ruth Pryor of Texas City and Cathrin Marie Plaster of Conroe; sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy Joyce and Ike Hall of Friendswood and Wanda and Eddie Farquhar of Kennard; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Benny Coonrod; brothers-in-law, Tom Pryor and Ray Plaster.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904.
