Thelma (Williams) Carrell

Funeral services for Thelma W. Carrell, 90, of Huntington will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Reverend Barry Burch officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in San Augustine County, Texas.

Mrs. Carrell was born December 21, 1925 in Oak Grove Community of San Augustine County, Texas to the late Arthur and Cordie (Rayburn) Williams and died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Lufkin, Texas.

Mrs. Carrell was a 1943 graduate of Broaddus High School. She retired at age 81, as a Clerk, from Community Actions at the Angelina County Courthouse in Lufkin. She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church where she had attended since January of 1963. She loved and was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Carryl Carrell and Barry and Betty Burch, all of Zavalla; seven grandchildren, Rhonda Church with husband Mark of Huntington, Danny Kitchens, Jr. with wife Theresa of Dickenson, Rich Broderick, Jr. of Goliad, Lori Biggs of Silsbee, Jana Voros with husband Chris of Huntsville and Sharon Bryan with husband Thomas of Bronson; twenty-five great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Clara Williams, Eva Brister and Martha Bryan; brothers, Charles Williams and Raymond Williams; grandson, David Broderick.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Broderick, Wayne Harper, Mark Church, Thomas Bryan, Billy Mudd, Josh Denby, Tony Burch and Lynn Bryan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Kitchens, Jr. and Michael Reed.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
