Dorothy Stoker Forsythe

Funeral services for Dorothy Stoker Forsythe, 82, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Gary Rowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Mrs. Forsythe was born November 28, 1933 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Robert Eli Stoker and Bessie (Dean) Stoker, and died Friday, July 29, 2016 in Katy, Texas. Mrs. Forsythe resided in Lufkin most of her life. She and her husband Raymond were married for 62 years. She was a Teacher’s Aide at Lufkin I.S.D. for many years. Mrs. Forsythe enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a place in her heart for special needs children. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Congregational Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Debbie Cole of Katy and Ramona and Dwayne Howell of Lufkin; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Troy and Autumn Manchaca, Maddox, Sadie, Darynn, and Raymond of League City, Amanda and Eric Miears, Madison and Nathan of Cypress, Shannon and Kevin Jefferson and Sawyer of Spring, Lauren and Matt Brazil, Paige, Claire, and Emma of Lufkin, Jake and Ashley Manchaca, Brayden and Benjamin of Katy; sisters, Bobbie Stoker Burkhalter of Houston and Kay Stoker Davis of Fulshear; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Pete and Sylvia Forsythe of Huntington; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Louise and George Rowe and Myrtice Forsythe, all of Lufkin; nieces and nephews, Chet Davis, Les Burkhalter, Dwain Forsythe, Gerald Forsythe, Eula Forsythe, David Forsythe, Mike Forsythe, Keith Forsythe, Reba Crager, Gary Rowe, Thomas Rowe, Regina Bridges, Wendell Forsythe, Cary Forsythe, Brent Forsythe, Vonda Bearden, Travis Forsythe, and Darenda Mullins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Raymond Forsythe; parents, Robert and Bessie Stoker; stepmother, Velma Jean Kirksey Stoker; son-in-law, Doc Cole; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard and Violet Forsythe, Kenneth Forsythe, Robert and Rosella Forsythe, Bill Forsythe, Leo Davis, and Ray Burkhalter; niece, Melva Darlene Forsythe; nephews, Jeff Davis and Daryl Forsythe. Pallbearers will be Troy Manchaca, Jake Manchaca, Les Burkhalter, Chet Davis, Dwayne Howell, Eric Miears, Kevin Jefferson, Matt Brazil, Nathan Miears, Maddox Munoz, Gerald Forsythe, and Keith Forsythe.
