Funeral services for Carey Watson, 77, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Cindy Doran and Buford Abeldt officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Mr. Watson was born July 24, 1939 in Louisville, Mississippi, and died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his residence. Carey was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He grew up in Louisville, Mississippi, the youngest of seven children to Shed and Beulah (Whitten) Watson. He enjoyed working on cars, camping, boating, traveling, site-seeing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was in the industrial forklift business for 48 years. His success in the business can be attributed to his work ethic and his natural mechanical ability. His attention to detail was remarkable. He took pride in everything he did and the fact that he always left his customers satisfied. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Lynn Watson of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Lori Watson of Wheatland, California; daughter, Kristi Allen of Lufkin; grandchildren, Erica McGaughey of Lufkin, Trace Hawley of Huntington, and Chloe Watson of Wheatland, California; great-grandchild, Rhyleigh Richardson of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
