Martha Fern Nerren

Funeral services for Martha Fern Nerren, 85, of Huntington will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Harmony Odell Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Jackson Colwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Shofner Cemetery in Huntington.

Mrs. Nerren was born May 30, 1931 in Huntington, Texas to the late Oscar Shirel Jones, Sr. and Cora (Martin) Jones, and died Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in Huntington, Texas.

Mrs. Nerren was a lifetime resident of Huntington. She was a homemaker and mother. She volunteered at McMullen Memorial Library and loved taking books to the senior citizens at Huntington Housing Authority. Mrs. Nerren was a member of Harmony Odell Missionary Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Bashaw; nieces and nephews, Bonita and Glenn Jacobs, Kris and Trish Hopson, J’Nelle and Louie Short, Jackie Jones, Kent and Lisa Jones, Kippy and Ruby Hopson, Bowden Simpson and Patricia Jones; and special friend, Rena Brock.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Nerren; son, Paxton Joe Nerren; her parents; siblings, Juanita Hopson, Dorothy Simpson, O.S. (Bud) Jones, Jr., and Jack Jones.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Weaver, Wes Fielder, Jimmy Wankan, Dannie Daniel, James Pyle, Roy French, Don Willis and Danny Winskie.
