Joyce Crager

Funeral services for Joyce Crager, 71, of Lufkin will be held Friday, July 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Crager was born September 7, 1944 in Diboll, Texas to Ellis Jr. Kessinger and Mildred Marqueriette (Hales) Kessinger and died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in a local nursing home facility. Mrs. Crager was a resident of Lufkin all of her life. She was a homemaker who loved to crochet and read. Her favorite singer of all time was Elvis. Mrs. Crager was a lifetime member of the VFW Diboll Lodge and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dewey and Denise Crager of Lufkin; step-son, Bill Anthony of Lufkin; step-daughter, Felicia Guidry and her husband Herbert of Lufkin; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; mother, Mildred Kessinger of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Emmitt and Teresa Kessinger and Donald Ray and Kathy Kessinger, all of Diboll and Albert and Kathy Kessinger of Knoxville, Tennessee; number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. Crager; father; brother, James Ellis; grandson, Chris Westmoreland. Pallbearers will be Buddy Pace, Lacy Norton, Brian Acord, Erick Weeks, Albert Kessinger and Donnie Kessinger. Honorary pallbearer will be Emmitt Kessinger.
