Victor Neil "Tex" Allison, Sr.

Funeral services for Victor Neil Allison, Sr. “Tex”, 92, of Huntington will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Slover officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Allison was born November 25, 1923 in Groesbeck, Texas to the late Claude Buchannan Allison and Georgia (Goolsby) Allison and died Sunday, June 12, 2016 in a local hospital.

Mr. Allison enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1942 and fought in the battle at Guadalcanal and Tarawa. After the war he worked for Texas Oil Company in the U.S. and Venezuela as a drilling foreman. He moved to Huntington in 1960, where he worked as a rancher and building contractor until he retired.

Survivors include his wife, Joy (Slover) Allison of Huntington; children, Victor Neil Allison, Jr. and wife Joyce and Shirley Allison Reynolds and husband Steve all of Huntington; step-children, Steve Slover and wife Kaye of Nacogdoches and LuAnne Slover Halbert and husband Gary of Virginia; grandchildren, Randy Boase and husband Chad of Spring, Lacretia Owens and husband Mike of Porter, Tracie Pfitzinger and husband David of Flower Mound, Chad Reynolds of Georgia, LeAnn Reynolds Clements and husband Kelby of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Chris Reynolds of Huntington and Sara Allison of Huntington; step-grandchildren, Natalie Slover Daniel and husband Austin, Emily Slover Windsor and husband Thomas Howard Windsor III, John Slover, Taylor Halbert McFarland and husband Andrew and Travis Halbert.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Audramaura Allison Siems.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
