Virginia S. Greenville

Funeral services for Virginia S. Greenville, 90, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Parkview Baptist Church in Lufkin with Brother Jimmy Hedges, Brother Steve Killam and Brother Gary Forrest officiating. Graveside services will be held Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 12:00 noon in the Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery, 7301 Memorial Drive, Hitchcock, Texas.

Mrs. Greenville was born June 1, 1926 in Dickinson, Texas to the late Micheal and Camellia (Puccelli) Scrafoni, and died Monday, June 6, 2016 in Lufkin.

Mrs. Greenville was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 60 years, and had served as Worthy Matron of the Lufkin, Burke and Galveston Chapters. She was a past Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Girls, past President of the Women’s Society of Galveston United Methodist Church, and a longtime member of a quilting group. She had resided in Lufkin for 42 years and retired from the Calvary Baptist Church Daycare in Lufkin. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Sylvia Ann Greenville McCreary and husband Alton of Lufkin, Janice Elaine Greenville Kok and husband Ben of Tyler, Robert M. Wheeler, MD and wife Lori of Longview; grandchildren, Robert M. Wheeler, Jr. of Longview, Ritchey Wheeler of Shenandoah, Shane Greenville of Laredo, John Greenville of Houston and Chase Greenville of Willis; great-grandchildren, Aubry Greenville and Gavin Greenville, both of Laredo, Meadow Greenville of Houston, Matthew Wheeler and Jacob Wheeler of Shenandoah and Danica Greenville of Willis; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years, James Hilton “Boots” Greenville, Sr.; and son, James Hilton “Spanky” Greenville, Jr.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Honorary pallbearer will be Bryan Baker.

The family extends special thanks to PineCrest Retirement Community and Hospice in the Pines for their kindness and care of Mom.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607 (Designate “for Galveston”).

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
