Melba Sue Walker

Funeral services for Melba Sue Walker, 73, of Zavalla will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Mark Green and Brother Robert Horn officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery.

Mrs. Walker was born September 27, 1942 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at her residence. She had resided in Zavalla for 42 years and was employed at the Lakeview RV & Motel. Mrs. Walker was a member of the Johnson Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Vorse of Zavalla; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Gina Walker of Zavalla; grandchildren, Angel Waldon and husband Jimmy, Hailey Walker, Taylor Walker, Keith Bendo, and Jessica Bendo; great-grandchildren, Skyelar Warden, Shelbye Warden, and Jayden Nichols; mother of Hailey and Taylor, Ginger Walker of Zavalla; sister, Bobbye Smith of Grapeland; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel Lois (Dixon) Denby; husband, Roger Walker; son, Michael Ray Beatty; granddaughter, Courtney Moore; great-granddaughter, Karley Jordan; and son-in-law, Dennis Vorse.

Pallbearers will be Richard Babb, Robert Wallace, Xavier Monroy, Jimmy Waldon, Brad Evans, and Dustin Mitchell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Dykes, Bob O’Neil, Keith Bendo, Kent Henson, Bobby Epperley, Donald Beatty, and Wade Woodrum.

The family extends special thanks to Harbor Hospice, especially her nurse Chad and Chaplain Lisa.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
