Dr. James S. Reese, Dds

Dr. James S. Reese, DDS, 91, of Lufkin was born March 2, 1925 in Trinity County, Texas to the late James Seaborn and Ethel Roach Reese, Sr. and died Thursday, March 31, 2016 in a local nursing facility. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Dr. Reese had resided in Lufkin for most of his life. He served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant with the Medical Corps in World War II. He later went on to become a Dentist and serve the people of his community. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Randal Doss of Lufkin; grandson, Matthew Reese Lowery of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Woody Gene and Nadine Reese of Livingston; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Bell Reese.
