A.R. "Jack" Mason

Graveside services for A.R. “Jack” Mason, 91, of Diboll will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Prairie Grove Cemetery with Brother Roy Hall officiating.

Mr. Mason was born February 21, 1925 in Cushing, Texas to the late Eric and Ada (Bass) Mason and died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in Diboll.

Mr. Mason was a lifetime resident of Diboll. He served with the United States Army in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was an equipment operator for P&H Logging for 18 years, but in his earlier years he was a rodeo bronc rider. Mr. Mason enjoyed hunting and raising chickens and loved his companion, his dog, Brister. He was a devoted husband and father and always made family his main priority. He loved giving nicknames to those closest to him, but will always be remembered for his heart warming laugh. Mr. Mason was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Cleo Mason of Diboll; son, Ray Mason and wife Cathy of Hudson; daughter, Rita Baldree and husband Doug of Lufkin; son, Raymond Mason of Diboll; son, Terry Mason and wife Lora of Diboll; grandchildren, B.J. Baldree and wife, Megan of Lufkin; Megan Baldree of Diboll; Dillon Mason and wife Breanna of Hudson; Amy Bolton and husband Jake of San Antonio; Zane Peavy and wife Sara of Richmond; great-grandchildren, Easton Baldree, Alyce Bolton, and Truitt Bolton; sister, Melba Beall of Henderson; brother, Pete Mason of Henderson; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lynn Mason.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
