Sadie (Baker) Denton

Graveside services for Sadie Baker Denton, 106, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in the Gann Cemetery with Brother Jerry Browning officiating.

Mrs. Denton was born June 13, 1909 in the Clawson Community of Angelina County to the late Ben and Georgia Dias Baker and died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Grace Skilled Care Center in Lufkin.

Mrs. Denton was a lifelong resident of Lufkin. She was a homemaker, loving wife, and caregiver to her husband and mother who lived to be 102 years. Mrs. Denton was active in her church, Clawson Baptist, when she was still able to attend.

She is survived by her loving caregivers; nephew, Charles Metts and wife Shirley; and numerous other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, James Harold Denton in 1998; sisters, Iva Lee Tucker, Bonnie Nell Jones, and Lila Bargainer; brothers, Moody Baker and Benny Baker.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
