Elcie Alene Duncan

Funeral services for Elcie Alene Duncan, 91, of Tyler, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jacob Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Duncan was born April 3, 1924 in Kemp, Texas to the late Larkin Andrew and Martha Sevilla (Brock) Richard, and died Friday, March 25, 2016 in a Tyler hospital. She had resided in Tyler for 15 years. Mrs. Duncan loved sewing and quilting, and was a founding member of the Lufkin Hemerocallis Society. She enjoyed outings with the group to visit Daylily Gardens. She was an owner of Duncan’s Western Wear in the 1970’s. Elcie was a Christian and loved the Lord. She was a member of Lancewood Assembly of God in Hudson, where she attended with her mother, Martha Richard. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Milvia and Tracy Richardson of Tyler; granddaughters and spouses, Rachel and Cory Thomas of Chandler, Tami Rhoades and fiancé Rich Romano of Austin, and Becky and Dave Onuschak of Germantown, Maryland; grandsons and spouses, Jacob and Jen Richardson of Palestine and Joshua and Ashley Richardson of Splendora; great-grandchildren, Adam Thomas and Haley Thomas, Reagan, Skylar and Brock Rhoades, Zack Belknap, Tracy, Nate and John Richardson, Mark, Michael and Jacob Lee Richardson; sisters, Odell Reihle and Jean Rudd, both of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Tommie Floyce Watson of Hudson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Wyatt Duncan; brothers, Bud Temple, Ernest, Lewis, and A.B. Richards; and sisters, Margie Jean Richard and Essie L. Watson. Pallbearers will be Adam Thomas, Reagan Rhoades, Skylar Rhoades, Brock Rhoades, Cory Thomas, Tracy Richardson, and Rich Romano. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Bell and Scott Hawkins. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon prior to the services.
