Funeral services for Essie Lorine (Richard) Watson, 90, of Hudson will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kevin Poage officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Watson was born January 27, 1926 in Cayuga, Texas to the late Larkin Andrew and Martha Sevilla (Brock) Richard and died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at a local hospital. Mrs. Watson, formerly of Houston, had resided in Lufkin for 24 years. She was a homemaker who loved quilting and making bead boxes. She also enjoyed cooking. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a member of Clawson Assembly of God. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Tommie Floyce Watson of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis Ray and Sue Watson of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Denease and Adaile Murray of Hudson; granddaughters, Angelia Lollar and her husband Cole of Hudson and Jennifer Watson of Cedar Creek; great-grandchildren, Emily and Logan Lollar; sisters Elcie Duncan Stevens of Tyler, Odell Reihle of Lufkin, and Jean Rudd of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Naomi Lewis of Lufkin; number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bud, Temple, Earnest, Lewis, and A.B. Richard; sister, Margie Jean Richard. Memorial contributions may be made to Clawson Assembly of God, Youth Department, 5569 US-69, Pollok, Texas 75969. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
