Frank T. Nolden

Funeral services for Frank T. Nolden, 95, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Browning officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Nolden was born May 18, 1920 in Dallas, Texas to the late Frank W. and Willie D. (White) Nolden and died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Castle Pines Health and Rehabilitation in Lufkin.

Mr. Nolden, formerly of Lafayette, Louisiana, had resided in Lufkin since 1993. He retired, after 22 years, from the The Federal Aviation Administration as an Aircraft Maintenance Inspector. He loved anything to do with aircraft. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time and could always be caught telling jokes and stories. He, along with his wife Lellah, enjoyed traveling in their RV. They visited almost every state in the U.S., along with Mexico and Canada. Their favorite place to be was in the Texas Valley. Mr. Nolden was a very active member of Calvary Baptist Church and was also involved with the Salvation Army.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Nelson and Janice Nolden of Highlands; daughter and son-in-law, Winnell and Barry Chinn of Austin; daughter-in-law, Gloria Nolden of Highlands; 8 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Priscilla McCain of Ft. Worth; best friend of 60 years, Bill Zea; many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lellah Nolden in 2008; son, F. Truman Nolden II, in 2014.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Nolden’s grandchildren.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
