Funeral services for James Edward Wade, 86, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Keith Woolf officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Wade was born December 18, 1929 in Groveton, Texas to the late, Coy F. and Hazel (Tolliver) Wade, Sr. and died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in a local hospital. Mr. Wade was a lifelong resident of Lufkin. He served with the United States Air Force for 2 years during the Korean conflict. He worked for Southland/St. Regis/Champion International Paper for 37 years as a Paper Maker. Mr. Wade was president of Local 411 Papermaker Union. He, along with his son Coy, were 4 time I.H.R.A. world record holders. His passion was hunting and fishing and was a master fishing net weaver. Mr. Wade was a member of the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M for over 60 years. He was also a member of the McKindree Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Nina Wade of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Coy F. and Dorinda Wade, III of Lufkin; grandson and his wife, Nick and Jordan Wade of Austin; nieces, Linda Gayle Crain and Gena Lee Hanner both of Lufkin; “adopted daughter”, Brenda Terrell Back of Lufkin; a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Coy F. Wade, Jr. Pallbearers will be Matt Thompson, Pete Thompson, J.C. Conner, Keith Gilbert, Gaylon Turner, and Wes Graham. Memorial contributions may be made to McKindree Baptist Church, 557 McKindree Rd. Lufkin, Texas 75901 or the Winnie Berry Animal Shelter, 1102 N John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
