Jacqueline Putz Orr

Graveside services for Jacqueline Putz Orr, 83, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.in the Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville, North Carolina. Services are under the direction of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville, North Carolina.

Mrs. Orr was born July 11, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Emil Albert Putz and Gisela (Phister) Putz. She passed away suddenly Friday, March 11, 2016 at her residence at PineCrest Retirement Community.

Mrs. Orr was a pioneering spirit who served her country in the U.S. Air Force before moving to North Carolina in 1954, where she and her husband Richard raised three children. They retired to Statesville, North Carolina where they enjoyed their retirement years among loving neighbors. She finally made it to Texas in 2014 where she found a warm and welcoming community at PineCrest Retirement Community.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Stevenson of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Bookie Orr of Plano; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Edward O’Brien of Brookeland; grandchildren, Richard O’Brien of the Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, Mississippi, and Charlotte O’Brien of Austin; and sister, Mary Lou Rice of Covington, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Richard E. Orr in 2013.
