Jerry Mack Payne

Funeral services for Jerry Mack Payne, 71, of Pollok will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Elton Musick officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Mr. Payne was born July 25, 1944 in Livingston, Texas to the late Oreal Adron and Mary Lois (Lamberth) Payne, and died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at The Joseph House. Mr. Payne was a graduate of Lufkin High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and owned Payne Electrical Contractors for 30 years. He was an avid fan of drag racing and loved to travel. Mr. Payne was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Samantha Payne of Pollok; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Daniel Balkcom of Parkland, Florida; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Payne, Reese Balkcom, Ryan Balkcom and Blake Balkcom; sisters and brother-in-law, Sue and Carl Ellis of Zavalla and Louise Nash of Lufkin; soulmate, Gale Scott of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jimmy Payne. Pallbearers will be Allan Riddle, Gary Campbell, Eldon Fuller, Mark Reeves, William Gates and Richard Thomas.
