Paul Douglas "Doug" Jacks

Funeral services for Paul Douglas “Doug” Jacks, 72, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist Harold Hancock and Tim Beamon officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Mr. Jacks was born August 19, 1943 in San Augustine, Texas to the late Claude F. and Tina Loretha (Green) Jacks, and died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Jacks was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He attended Texas A&M University and retired from Lufkin Conroe Telephone Exchange following 35 years as a Telecommunications Engineer. Mr. Jacks was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and he cherished his family. He loved hunting. Mr. Jacks was a member of Timberland Drive Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Pearlene Jacks of Lufkin; son, Randall Segrest of Lufkin; daughter, Debra Hester and husband Daniel of Katy; granddaughter, Kelly Hester of Katy; grandson, Aston Segrest of Hemphill; brother, Curtis Jacks and wife Patricia of San Augustine; sisters, Betty Neal of San Augustine and Charlotte Wood and husband A.J., Jr. of Pineland; brothers-in-law, Roy Smithheart and wife Suzanne of Clute, David Smithheart and wife Gene of Orange, and Ray Smithheart of Cypress; sisters-in-law, Josie Smithheart and Shirley Hollingsworth and husband Joe, all of Lufkin; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Jacks of Lufkin; and brother, David Jacks of Huntington. Memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s memory to the Humane Society of Angelina County, P.O. Box 472, Lufkin, Texas 75902. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
