Diane Willmon Mcbroom

Funeral services for Diane Willmon McBroom, 70, of Lufkin will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lloyd Thurman, Pastor Roger Lewis, and Reverend Otis Byers officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery. Mrs. McBroom was born November 22, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Thomas Ward and Alethea Ashley Ward and died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at a local hospital. Mrs. McBroom, formerly of Porter, had resided in Lufkin for the last 3 years. She was a Lufkin High School graduate with the Class of 1964 and a member of the LHS Band. She retired from the accounting department at FMA Alliance in Houston. Mrs. McBroom loved to travel and enjoyed listening to, and promoting local concerts for, Southern Gospel music. She was a member of the Victory Assembly of God. Survivors include her husband, Thomas McBroom of Lufkin; daughter, Carol Alexander of Porter; daughter-in-law, Stefani Willmon Lovett of Lufkin; step-daughter and son-in-law, Jill and David Blalock of Lufkin; grandchildren, Carter Willmon of Lufkin, Austin and Meagan Alexander of Porter, Chloe Willmon of Lufkin, Aaron Alexander and Adam Alexander of Porter, and McKenzie and Tad Dickerson of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Ally and Adrian Escobedo and Ryan Dickenson, all of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Carolyn Ward of Lufkin and Lewis and Melba Ward of Livingston; brother, Jack Ward of Centerville; best friend, JoAnn Willmon of Lufkin; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Don Willmon; and son, Eric Willmon. Memorial contributions may be made to Victory Assembly of God Church, 1405 S. Chestnut Street, Lufkin, Texas 75901. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
