Funeral services for Debby Dawson Marshall, 69, of Corrigan will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lesly Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Marshall was born February 2, 1947 in Beaumont, Texas to the late William W. “Bill” and Miriam (DuBose) Dawson, and died Sunday, February 28, 2016 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Marshall was raised in Lufkin and had resided in Corrigan for more than 45 years. She was the Executive Director of the Corrigan Housing Authority for 26 years and had served as Editor of the Corrigan Times for eight years. Mrs. Marshall loved her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports. She loved her family and supported her children in all activities they took part in. Mrs. Marshall enjoyed fishing, campfires, and sitting on the back porch at the farm looking over the big bottom. She was a huge Willie Nelson and Bee Gees fan. Mrs. Marshall was a member of the First Baptist Church of Corrigan.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Marshall of Corrigan; daughter and son-in-law, Johnna and Darrell Gibson of Corrigan; son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Robin Lowe of Diboll; grandchildren, Kortney McMullen, Jimmy Kee and wife Brittany, Jonathan Lowe, Jay Dawson Lowe, and Max Willson; great-grandchildren, Hudsyn Camp, Ryder O’Quinn and Ryan Frank Kee; sister, Sherri Cely of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, John Cely.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Kee, Jonathan Lowe, Jay Dawson Lowe, Max Willson, Joe Walker, George Mercer and Eddie Peters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Corrigan-Camden High School Band, 504 S. Home Street, Corrigan, Texas 75939, or a charity of your choice.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
