Norma Reese

Funeral services for Norma Reese, 92, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Reese officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Reese was born September 15, 1923 in Bells, Texas to the late George F. and Mary Mae (Case) Stanley, and died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Garrison Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Garrison, Texas. Mrs. Reese had resided in Lufkin for 55 years. She was employed, as a seamstress, for 13 years with the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. Mrs. Reese loved music. She enjoyed working in her yard and riding her tractor. She was a proud woman, admired and loved by many in town and the surrounding communities. She loved sharing her wisdom with her grandchildren. Mrs. Reese was a member of Central Church of Christ. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James H. “Jim”, Jr. and Judy Reese of Mt. Enterprise; daughter, Linda Walton of Friendswood; grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Karen Reese, Dana and Richard Hayden, Keith and Glenda Sears, Christie Walton, and Michelle and Michael Gough; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Reese, Sr. in 1987; son-in-law, Al Walton in 2012; and a number of brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Caleb Reese, Garrett Smelley, Aaron Smelley, Keith Sears, Shawn Welchman, and Ethan Norman. Honorary pallbearer will be Johnny Young. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the funeral home prior to the service.
