Funeral services for Yvonne “Evie” Wells, 52, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Moats officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery. Evie was born July 28, 1963 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 in a local hospital. Evie was a teacher with the Lufkin Independent School District for 8 years. She loved science, children, and teaching was her passion. She was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church and enjoyed being involved with VBS. She had a unique gift of making everyone around her feel special, but her priority was her family. She was a loving wife and mother, and always put the needs of her husband and children first – they were her life and she was a blessing to them. Survivors include her husband of 27 years, David Wayne Wells of Lufkin; sons, David Wayne Wells, II, Lewis Edward Wells, Paul William Wells, Jack Timothy Wells, and Henry Patrick Wells, all of Lufkin; mother and husband, Sonja and Havey Morgan of Lufkin; father and wife, Richard Ross and Luzma Romano of Savannah, Georgia; and numerous other family members and friends. Evie was preceded in death by her daughter, Sara Elizabeth Wells; and a brother, Michael Romano. Pallbearers will be Rich Romano, Zech Smith, David Gochnour, David Anderson, Cory Gochnour, Christian Gochnour, Matthew Gochnour, and Ronnie Lusk. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Evie’s memory to Denman Avenue Baptist Church, 1807 E. Denman Ave, Lufkin, Texas 75901 or to the church of your choice. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
