Glenn O. Nerren

Funeral services for Glenn O. Nerren, 80, of Lufkin will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Winston C. Roach officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Center (Rocky Springs) Cemetery in Huntington. Glenn was born July 29, 1935 in Huntington, Texas to the late Virgil Nerren and Ada (Lovett) Nerren and died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at a local nursing facility. Glenn attended the Texas School for the Blind in Austin his entire school life where he learned the art of tuning pianos. He tuned pianos in this area for sixty years and was well known for his piano tuning ability. He tuned the pianos at Stephen F. Austin in excess of 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. Glenn was a member of Fuller Springs Baptist Church. Glenn is survived by wife, Helen Gray Nerren and was a dad to Jeff Linzy of Houston, Jon and Jan Linzy, James and Rita Dean all of Lufkin, Angela Dean of Central, Tina and Scott Cameron, Tamesha and Daniel Dixon, and Candice Stott all of Lufkin. He was PaPa to Allen Clark of Lufkin, Zachery Dean, Caleb, Andrew, and Riley Brewer all of Central, Megan Cameron, Madison and Emma Stott, Abigail and Austin Dixon all of Lufkin. He is also survived by sisters, Ruby Kent of Humble and Barbara Nash of Lufkin; foster brother and wife, Lloyd and Dixie Franklin of Humble; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, C.B. and Joyce Gray. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Margaret Roach Nerren; 2 sisters; and brothers, Kenneth and J.B. Nerren. Pallbearers will be Zach Dean, Caleb Brewer, Andrew Brewer, Jon Linzy, Larry Nash, and Dale Nash. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Clark and Riley Brewer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Glenn’s honor to your favorite charity or church of choice. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
