Graveside services with military honors for William Randall “Randy” Matteson, 51, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells with Pastor Don Schultheis officiating.
Mr. Matteson was born June 9, 1964 in Lufkin, Texas to Vertis Edward Matteson and Lavern (Moore) Matteson Osburn, and died Saturday, February 13, 2016 in a local hospital.
Mr. Matteson was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Recruiter in Lufkin for six years. He had owned and operated Osburn Sanitation for 12 years. Mr. Matteson enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, baseball, and umpiring.
Survivors include his wife, Jana Lowery of Lufkin; daughters, Hannah Matteson and Abby Matteson, both of Huntington; son, Stryker Matteson of Lufkin; stepchildren, Jessica Lowery and Landon Lowery; mother, Lavern Osburn of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Mike Ivy of Nacogdoches; brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Julie Matteson of Redland; sisters, Pam, Cathy, Janet Sue, and Jena; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his fathers, Vertis Edward Matteson and J.R. Osburn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Matteson, Kevin Lemons, Joey Waggonner, Edward Hicks, David Yarbrough, James Luce, and Kent Newton.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
