Lee Roy Johnson

Funeral services for Lee Roy Johnson, 70, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lewis Jones officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was born May 5, 1945 in Houston, Texas to the late Herman Johnson and Mary (Thomas) Johnson Redd, and died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in a local hospice facility. Mr. Johnson had resided in Lufkin since 1968. He was employed with Foster Paving Co. for 10 years. He liked camping and fishing, and enjoyed bar-be-queuing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was known to enjoy conversations. Mr. Johnson was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Tammie Johnson of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha Woods and Brett Badeaux of Lufkin and Terri and Allen Ragland of Apple Springs; grandchildren and their spouses, Kayla and Michael Caldwell of North Carolina, Zachary and Callie Morgan of Burke, Tristen Woods of Lufkin, Breanna and Jon Abshier of Groveton, Aaron and Courtney Ragland and Dustin and Laura Ragland, all of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Maddilynn Caldwell, Jase Caldwell, Cash Morgan, Ayla Abshier, Karly Abshier, Chase Abshier and Aubree Ragland; brother, Warren Redd of Fort Worth; sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Allan Rickman and Shirlene and Terry Girt, all of Victoria; mother of his children, Glynda Conner of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jacob Johnson; brother, Bob Johnson; and stepfather, Edward Redd. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Johnson’s sons, sons-in-law, grandsons and great-grandsons. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
