Graveside services for Ernestine “Ernie” Burrous Trahan, 81, of Lufkin will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Whitehouse Cemetery with Pastor Don Schultheis officiating.
Mrs. Trahan was born September 19, 1934 in Lufkin to the late Melvin and Gussie (Buford) Burrous and passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Trahan resided in Lufkin most of her life. She was a graduate of Lufkin High School, Class of 1952. Mrs. Trahan was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and the Grace Sunday School Class. She was a volunteer at one time for Hospice in the Pines. Mrs. Trahan had undergone four different types of cancer and had lost her husband, but managed to stay strong through it all. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include Kadie Beth Wisener of Lufkin, whom she mentored and was a hero to. In Kadie Beth’s words, “She has taught me how to not take life for granted and she trusts in the Lord in every situation.” Mrs. Trahan also survived by numerous other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lenwood Trahan; and brother, Glynn Burrous.
