Graveside services for Ruth Helen Bass will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Reverend Frank Starr officiating.
Ruth Helen Bass, age 93, died January 20, 2016, in Danbury, Connecticut. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert E. Bass Jr. Ruth was born in Fedor, Texas, a daughter of the late August and Anna (Becker) Dube. She grew up and was educated in the Central Texas farming community where she was born and later studied fashion design in California and attended Telegraph and Business schools in Texas. She retired from Republic Bank in Lufkin, retiring in 1984 to have more time to provide care for her daughter Elaine. Five years ago she moved to Brookfield, Connecticut to be close to her daughter, Amy. Ruth loved sewing for herself and for her daughters and granddaughters. She was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Amy Taylor and her husband Alan of Brookfield, CT; sister, Erna Patschke and brother, Herbert Dube, both of Fedor; son-in-law, Gary Parkison of Colorado; granddaughters, Julie Yapoujian, Janice Brennan, both of Connecticut and Kelly Creech of North Carolina; step-granddaughters, Pamela Rowell of Round Rock, Carolyn Thompson and Kristen Weaver, both of Lufkin, and Samantha Huffstetler of North Carolina; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Elaine Bass Parkison; sisters, Elsie Jenke and Adele Jenke; brother, Edwin Dube; and stepson, Robert E. Bass III.
