Funeral services for Virgil E. Havard, 85, of Zavalla will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Joel Hitchcock officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery.
Mr. Havard was born December 11, 1930 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Hillary Columbus and Laura Francis (Boykin) Havard and died Monday, January 25, 2016 in a local hospital.
Mr. Havard served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was employed as a welder for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Havard of Zavalla; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Randall Thompson of Beaumont, Jerline and Ralph Aldis of Berghaim, Peggy and Steve Soza of San Diego, California; daughter, Sabrina Lou Havard of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Johnny Taylor, Ryan Thompson, Patrick Aldis, Shyanne Aldis, and Summer Skye Aldis; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Havard of Zavalla; along with numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings.
Pallbearers will be Tim Evans, Shane Evans, Frank Williams, Walter Cooper, Ryan Thompson, Bradley Weaver, Dwayne Havard, Larry Cain, and William Cooper.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
