Robert M. Duke

Graveside services with military honors for Robert M. Duke, 86, of Lufkin will be held Monday, January 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Alex Montilla officiating.

Mr. Duke was born May 11, 1929 in Lufkin, Texas to the late John Chapel and Stella Mae (Middleton) Duke, and died Friday, January 15, 2016 at his residence. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Amoco-British Petroleum in Texas City. Mr. Duke was a member of the First Baptist Church of Texas City.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Louise Duke of Willow, Alaska and John and Liz Duke of Texas City; daughter, Donna Duke of Lufkin; grandson, Trent Duke of Willow, Alaska; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Duke of Lufkin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter and Jeaness Denman of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary Duke in 2014.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon at the cemetery prior to the services.
