Glenda Fay (Short) Johnson

Glenda Fay (Short) Johnson, 63, died January 8, 2016, with her family by her side in Lufkin, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Carroway Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mardy Guidry officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was born January 20, 1952, in Odessa, Texas to parents Jeanette Gentery and Ray Short. She moved to the Lufkin area in 1965 and since a lifelong resident. Glenda graduated from Hudson High School in 1971. Survivors include her two children and their spouses, Todd Bryan and wife Michelle Bryan, Katrina (Bryan) McIntire and husband Brad McIntire. She also has two grandchildren Cristina Bryan and Graeme McIntire. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her brothers and sisters, Kenneth (Buster) Farley, Lenora and Toby Appleman, Robert and Teri Choate, Linda Whitt (twin sister), Barbra and Charley Unsell, Brenda Themis, Paula and Andy Tucker, and Charles Buffington and numerous nieces and nephews. She also loved many of her extended family and friends. Her interests included family, gardening, cooking, fishing, butterflies and a huge love of animals. She was affectionately called Ga Ga by her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donnie Short. Pallbearers will be Rob Looney, Grant Hightower, Greg Sanches, Jason Unsell, Andy Tucker, and Chad Becker. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday evening at the funeral home.
