Orville Lester "Buddy" Mcdonald

Funeral services for Orville Lester “Buddy” McDonald, 78, of Katy will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Billy Knight officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Narrow Way Cemetery. Mr. McDonald was born October 22, 1937 in New Willard, Texas to the late Albert Lester and Virginia Althea (Tillar) McDonald and died Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Brookshire Residence and Rehabilitation Center in Brookshire, Texas. Mr. McDonald, a former resident of Lufkin, was a foundry foreman at the Texas Foundry in Lufkin and TRW Mission in Houston. He had previously served his country in the United States Air Force. He loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors, swimming, BBQing, and was a collector of all things. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Dr. Behzad Emad of Pacific Palisades, California; son, Terry McDonald of Houston; daughter, Robin Palmer and fiance, Sgt. Alfonso Tijerina of Katy; daughters and sons-in-law; Misty and Melvin Baker and Darla and Paul Zoch all of Houston; son, Lester McDonald of Cypress; grandchildren, Roy Emad , Lily Emad, Priscilla and Darryl Brewin, Brian Palmer, Savana Palmer, Brittany and Jesse Aguilera, Makenze Baker, Collin Zoch, Carson Zoch, Jake McDonald; great-grandchildren, Addison Aguilera, Kayden Colleen, Braylen Brewin, Olivia Aguilera, and Chase Brewin (expected in May 2016); sisters, Inez Peterson of Garland and Ruth Thomas of Hudson; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Ray and Genevia McDonald of Lufkin; aunt, Ruby Doney of Lufkin; mother of his children, Hassell “Hasse” Marshall of Magnolia; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Preston Thomas and Gorden Ray Peterson. Pallbearers will be Mr. McDonald’s grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association P.O.Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011 or the Alzheimer’s Association of East Texas, Regional Office, 304 N. Raquet Street, Suite C, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
