Marie (Bazile) Price

Marie Bazile Price passed away Friday, December 11th at her Pinecrest residence in Lufkin, Texas. She was 78 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, December 16th at the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Morgan officiating. Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm just prior to the service. Marie was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated from John McDonogh High School in 1955. After working briefly for an insurance agency and putty factory as a secretary, she met and married William "Bill" Price in Biloxi, Mississippi on April 5, 1956 after a two month courtship. Later, relocating to Houston, Texas, she and Bill started a family with the births of Sandy and BT. In 1964, they relocated to Nacogdoches and then Lufkin in 1991. Marie was a wonderful mother and great homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, gardening, fishing, traveling, and reading. She had a special love for dogs and a flair for fashion. She was business savvy and wise with purposeful advice. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Price, son BT Price, her dog Laddie, her parents Dan and Matilda Bazile, brothers Anthony, Joe, and Ronald Bazile, and sister Rosemary Bantz. Survivors include her daughter Sandra Hopson and partner Patty Boston, Baton Rouge, LA; step-daughter Janet and her husband Phil Butler, Houston, Texas; former daughter-in-law and special friend Carol Sullivan, Midland, Texas; grandson Camron and wife Ally Price, Dallas,Texas; and granddaughter Allison Price, College Station, Texas; many special nephews, nieces, and friends. Special thanks to all the caregivers and staff at Pinecrest Retirement and Hospice in the Pines for the love and care provided to Marie.
