Jerry Mack Willis

Funeral services for Jerry Mack Willis, 71, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Andy Gossett officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery in Trinity County. Mr. Willis was born July 27, 1944 in Houston, Texas to the late Mitchell and Mary Lee (Martin) Willis, and died Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in a local hospital. Mr. Willis resided in Lufkin most of his life and retired as a heavy equipment operator for Loggins Construction Co. after 20 years. Mr. Willis loved the outdoors. Before his father passed away he especially enjoyed fishing and hunting with him. He was a Nascar and sports fan. Mr. Willis loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Treba Willis of Lufkin and Todd and Wendy Willis of Diboll; grandchildren, HaLeigh Willis, Hunter Willis, both of Diboll, Brandon Willis, and Elayna Willis, both of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Ayden Cook and Adalyn Cook, both of Diboll; sister, Judy Smith of Bastrop; stepchildren, Kenny Karber, wife Lauren and their children of Lufkin and Jeremy Karber, wife Angel and their children of Livingston; special family, Charles and Linda Basham of Lufkin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Curtis Willis. Pallbearers will be Todd Willis, Jerry Willis, Hunter Willis, Dwayne Stanford, Caleb Stanford and Scott Reeder. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Willis, Kenny Karber, Jeremy Karber and David Neyland. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
