Funeral services for Mary Louise Adkison, 93, of Diboll will be held Monday, December 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Merritt officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Adkison was born December 31, 1921 in Zavalla, Texas to the late William Alexander and Agnes Samantha (Herrington) Trigg, and died Friday, December 4, 2015 in a local hospital. She had resided in Diboll since 1941 and was a florist for more than 20 years. Mrs. Adkison was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Steve Berry of Hudson and Betty Jean Jones of Lufkin; granddaughters, Mary Kathleen Poret, Jennifer Christine Oliver and husband Charles, both of Hudson, and Sara Foxworth and husband Scott of Lufkin; grandsons, Curtis Lee Stanley, Jerry Lynn Ferguson, Richard Ferguson and wife Bridgette, all of Hudson, and Billy Ferguson and wife Nicole of Apple Springs; 14 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Bill Kirby of Huntsville; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William Curtis Parten; second husband, Rev. L.D. Adkison; brother, Leon Cheshire Trigg; and sister, Gladys Swearingen. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Adkison’s grandsons. Memorial contributions may be made to McKindree Baptist Church, 559 McKindree Road, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
