Funeral services for Jean Goodwin, 95, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Wilke officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 23, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Mrs. Goodwin was born October 27, 1920 in Palestine, Illinois to the late Lewis and Mary Elizabeth (Sutton) Meek, and died Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in a local assisted living facility. Prior to moving to Lufkin in 1997, Mrs. Goodwin was a resident of Midland for 50 years. She was active in the Midland Christian Fellowship and a current member of Carpenter’s Way Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald L. Goodwin of Plano, Philip W. and Kay Goodwin of Lufkin, and Randall D. and Marie Goodwin of Texarkana; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Allen Mashburn of Horseshoe Bay; daughter-in-law, Margaret Goodwin of Temple; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reo E. Goodwin; son, James E. Goodwin; great-grandson, Jack William Goodwin; and sister, Helen Maxine Houser. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Goodwin’s grandsons. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
