Eventius "E.T." Burton

Funeral services for Eventius “E.T.” Burton, 79, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Elton Musick officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Aldredge Cemetery. Mr. Burton was born January 15, 1936 in Delmer, Kentucky to the late Harlan and Mary (Stevenson) Burton, and died Saturday, October 24, 2015 in a local hospice facility. Mr. Burton had resided in Lufkin for 54 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired electrician with the IBEW Local Union 479. Mr. Burton loved coin collecting, was an avid hunter, and enjoyed fishing. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Janet Lea and John Howell of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Joshua Alan and Ashley Howell, Raymond Mathew Burton, Lacie LaRae and Justin Berwick, Justin Lee Howell and Emily Finegan, and Jerron Keith and Heather Howell; eight great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Angela Burton of Lufkin; sisters, Valerie Johnson of Lexington, Kentucky, Rose Neiten of Carmel, Indiana and Cindy Crump of Lexington, Kentucky; lifelong friends, Joe Brooks and Myrl Luce; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera L. Burton; son, Veral Ray Burton; and sisters, Rena McConnell and Joyce Wadsworth. Pallbearers will be Wayne Oliver, David Arnold, Lynn Bass, Jesse Oliver, Chris Jacobs and Tim Luce. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Brooks, Myrl Luce, and members of the IBEW Local Union 479. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
