Joe Lee Taylor, Sr.

Funeral services for Joe Lee Taylor, Sr., 74, of Huntington will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Robert Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Treadwell Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor was born March 16, 1941 in Roscoe, Texas to the late Chester Lee and Freeda Porter Taylor and died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Lufkin.

Mr. Taylor had resided in Angelina County since 1974; previously of California. He worked for Lufkin Industries for over thirty years. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Crye and husband Ernie of Huntington; sons, Joe Lee Taylor, Jr. and wife Tonja, and Terry Lee Taylor all of Huntington; grandsons, Ian Taylor and Travis Crye both of Huntington; granddaughter, Tiffany Taylor of Central; great-grandsons, Blake Taylor and Cory Taylor of Central; sisters, Judy Stone and Gail Taylor both of California; and a number of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Stella A. (Terry) Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Joe Taylor, Jr., Terry Taylor, Travis Crye, Ernie Crye, Dwayne Day, and Robbie Paramore.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ian Taylor and Don Brooks.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Dr, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, prior to service, at the funeral home.
