Tomylee Russell Shipley

Funeral services for Tomylee Russell Shipley, 91, of Lufkin will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reagan McClenny officiating. Interment will follow in the Narrow Way Cemetery.

Tomylee was born November 23, 1923 in Lufkin to the late Tom and Alma (Smith) Russell and passed way Tuesday, October 13, 2015 in Lufkin.

She married Frank Shipley, Jr. on September 10, 1948. The couple moved to San Antonio in 1954 where they raised their four sons. Frank and Tomylee returned to the Lufkin area in 1982 to live at the family homestead in Hudson.

Tomylee was a devoted daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always put others ahead of herself and lived her life as a model of godliness. She loved her family and her family loved her and we all will miss her.

She is survived by Frank, her husband of sixty-seven years; sons, Stan, Dan, George, and Jon; daughters-in-law Cindy, Sandy, and Gina; grandson, Justin and his wife, Gretel; granddaughter, Sarah and her husband Jordan High; granddaughter, Lauren and her husband Jordan McCann; grandchildren, Russell, Kelly, Nathan, Noah, Temple, Nicholas, Theo, and Nolan; great-grandchildren, Ella, Cassie, Hudson High, and Lucy High; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Shipley’s grandsons.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Timberland Drive Church of Christ Library, 912 S. Timberland Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75901 or the Ellen Trout Zoo, 402 Zoo Circle, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home, prior to the service.
