Charlene Davis

Funeral services for Charlene Davis, 71, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kevin Poage officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis was born June 6, 1944 in Houston, Texas to the late Sollie and Florine (Anthony) Lee and died Thursday, October 1, 2015 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Davis had resided in Trinity County for most of her life, but had recently moved to Lufkin. She retired from Centerville I.S.D. after thirty years where she served as the School Secretary. She loved her family and enjoyed having get-togethers, especially during the Holidays. She attended the Clawson Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Shanna McClain of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Jo Davis of Trinity, Chris and Kim Davis of Pollok, Evan and Melissa Davis of Clawson; grandchildren and spouses, Eric and Billie Davis, Ryan and Laura Davis, Cory and Sara Davis, Coleman Davis, Holly Davis, Hope Davis, Garrett Rogers, Jill and Danny Harris, Whitney and Michael Burran, Travis Sessions, and Hannah McClain; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aubrey Davis; and brother, Royce Lee.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Davis’ grandsons.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
